Every implant starts with a conversation and a plan you can take home.

What the scan is for

A cone beam CT scan is a 3D image of the jaw. In Ontario the office needs a CT Facility Permit to run one, and the dentist needs a CT Member Authorization to order it. If the dentist decides a scan is clinically justified for you, they will say why. If they don't, you won't have one.

  1. A talk, then an exam. You say what you are hoping for. The dentist looks at your mouth and asks about your health history.
  2. A decision about the scan. The dentist decides whether a 3D scan is clinically justified for you and explains the reason either way.
  3. A plan to take home. The steps, the visits and a written estimate, so you can think it over without being asked to decide.

What to bring

Start with a conversation.

Leave a number or an email and say what you would like to talk about. A consultation is where the dentist examines you and explains the options, and nothing is decided at the desk.
